Music Ministry

“Joyously serving our Lord through song.”

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom;
teaching and admonishing one another in psalms
and hymns and spiritual songs,
singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Music at Angier Baptist Church

Angier Baptist Church is blessed with an abundance of talent and an abundance of ways to use our talent serving the Lord! Choir opportunities are available for every age level – children, youth, adult and Golden Gems (senior citizens). Each choir enjoys a Sunday where they are featured for the ‘special’ music offering. In addition to weekly anthems, the Chancel Choir (adult choir) prepares and presents a yearly Christmas Cantata as well as special extended service music for Easter, Homecoming, Advent Hanging of the Greens and 4 th of July.  The Chancel Choir Rehearsal is Wednesday at 8:00 pm. Rehearsal times vary during special programs preparation times.

We also have started a praise group of singers/instrumentalists who lead praise singing on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month except December.  The group practices on Wednesday evenings at 6:00 pm in the chancel choir rehearsal room.

Instrumental music at Angier Baptist Church is growing and flourishing! The Angier Baptist Adult Ringers have performed concerts, participated in service and assisted with Cantata presentations. Our young ringers have performed several ‘ring-a-story’ presentations as well as performing in service and participating in the Hanging of the Greens service. We are blessed to ring the 3 octave Evelyn King Johnson memorial hand bells – a gift of a former chancel choir member. The hand bells choir has added a 3 octave set of hand chimes in recent years and several percussion instruments. We rehearse young ringers on Sunday evenings from 5:15-6:00 and adult ringers Sunday evenings from 6:00-7:00. A youth ringer group meets seasonally as interest grows.

The music ministry at Angier is always excited to see new faces and we would love to have you join us.  Contact music minister Barbara Hudson  with any questions you may have!
