Deacon Election Information
Qualifications for Election as Deacon or Deaconess (Election 8-22-10, Vote 9-12-10, Ordination and Installation 9-26-10)
The church shall through statements printed in the church newsletter and by announcement in the worship service on the day of nominating or election balloting, assue that candidates and the congregation are aware of the spirtiual ledership incumbent upon these officers and specifically of the biblical qualificatins for Deacons, including the printing and readings of the full texts of Acts 6:1-4; 1 Timothy 3:8-13 and Titus 1:5-9. Members shall be charged to prayerfully and faithfully apply these passages in their nominating and voting. The interpretation of these passages and the conditions they create in regard to qualifications and eligibility to serve as a deacon or deaconess shall, however, be the exclusive responsibility of each voting member and shall not be subject to review by the nominating committee or another body of the church.
NOTE *Deacon nomination is not eligible for those who are presently active on the diaconate, has served on the diaconate the previous year, or their membership status is not of the three year standing.
